Haryana left-hander Nishant Sindhu scored a century against Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy, batting for seven hours in the innings. Haryana followed on after the first innings.

Sindhu was part of India’s 2022 Under-19 World Cup-winning squad and has been building his red-ball experience in domestic cricket. His marathon knock provided stability for Haryana in difficult conditions.

The performance adds to his growing reputation as a batter capable of occupying the crease for long periods in first-class cricket.

CricHubb Take

A long innings in a follow-on situation underlines Sindhu’s value as a Test prospect if India continue to seek left-hand options in the middle order.
