Nitish Rana dropped from Delhi SMAT squad
Rana omitted; Badoni named captain for upcoming SMAT campaign.
Nitish Rana was dropped from Delhi's 16-member Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad on Friday. Ayush Badoni will captain the squad that includes Mayank Yadav, Harshit Rana and Ishant Sharma. Delhi's campaign begins on November 14 against Jammu and Kashmir in Indore.
Rana, 32, led Delhi in the previous SMAT edition where they failed to progress beyond the group stage. The decision marks a change in leadership for the team in the domestic T20 tournament.
The inclusion of Mayank Yadav, Harshit Rana and Ishant Sharma adds pace options to the squad. Delhi will look to improve on their previous performance with Badoni at the helm.
