Devdutt Padikkal batted on a wet artificial pitch with a lighter ball to prepare for New Zealand conditions. Prasidh Krishna is recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in the second ODI against West Indies, and the team management wants him fully ready for the Test series rather than ODIs. Auqib Nabi could replace Prasidh Krishna in the ODI squad against New Zealand after taking three wickets in New Zealand A's second innings in Lincoln.

Irfan Pathan attributed Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's power to his bat flow and hip-shoulder separation. Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma added 133 runs from 43 deliveries in the third T20I. India scored 118 runs in the first six overs while chasing 199 against New Zealand.

Finn Allen said it is difficult to stop Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once they get going. Uma Kashvi, 15, became the youngest player sold at a WPL auction for Rs 10 lakh when Delhi Capitals bought the Karnataka right-handed batter and off-spinner.
