India defeated New Zealand by three wickets in the second ODI at Sky Stadium, Wellington after rain reduced the target to 113 in 26 overs. New Zealand were bowled out for 134, their lowest ODI total against India at home.

Gurnoor Brar claimed career-best figures of four for 30 while Daryl Mitchell top-scored with 55 for New Zealand. Shreyas Iyer made 30 and KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 26 for India.

India now lead the series 2-0. Shubman Gill was dismissed for a golden duck in the match.

CricHubb Take

The result masks a deeper pattern where India's middle order is consistently finishing games that the top order has threatened to lose, suggesting the batting depth may be masking selection questions that will surface in tougher conditions.
