Cummins says Khawaja can tell his story in autobiography
Pat Cummins said he has no concerns about potential Sandpaper Gate revelations in Usman Khawaja's autobiography, stating the group has moved on.
Australia captain Pat Cummins has said he is not concerned about potential revelations regarding the 2018 Sandpaper Gate scandal in Usman Khawaja's upcoming autobiography. Khawaja called Cummins a few weeks ago to inform him about the book, which will be released on November 10 without a ghostwriter.
Cummins told reporters that Khawaja did not go into detail about the book's contents during their conversation. The Australia captain said all investigations into the ball-tampering incident were completed years ago and he had answered questions on the topic multiple times. Cummins added that the group has moved on and is focused on the present.
Australia begin their first Test series in South Africa since the 2018 Cape Town scandal on Friday at Kingsmead, Durban. Khawaja played in all four Tests during that controversial tour. Cummins said the focus remains on captaining the current side rather than revisiting past events.

Cummins' response reflects a deliberate strategy to close the chapter on 2018 before the South Africa series begins, signalling that the current leadership views the scandal as settled history rather than ongoing narrative.
