South Africa needs two more wickets to win the second Test against Australia at Gqeberha. Mulder dismissed Boland and Cummins on the fifth day, leaving the visitors nine wickets down in their second innings.

South Africa declared their first innings at 475 for eight after Temba Bavuma scored 179 and Marco Jansen and Simon Harmer added 85 and 82 respectively. Australia replied with 189 and were asked to follow on. Persistent rain and gloomy conditions had restricted play on the opening day.

Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl first in the three-match series. The second Test is part of Australia's tour of South Africa that began in October 2026.

CricHubb Take

Australia's decision to bowl first on a surface that later rewarded batting has left them needing a miracle on the final afternoon. The follow-on has exposed their middle order's vulnerability to South Africa's seam attack.
