Prabhsimran Singh scores 81 as Punjab reach 289 for 6
Prabhsimran's patient knock lifts Punjab after early losses on a turning Gymkhana pitch.
Prabhsimran Singh walked in at three after Punjab lost both openers early, then stitched together 48 with Harnoor Singh and another 43 with Uday Saharan. He faced 126 balls, hit nine fours and one six, before Chinntla Rakshan Readdi bowled him for 81.
Salil Arora and Ramandeep Singh added half-centuries either side of Prabhsimran's dismissal, lifting Punjab from 62 for two to 289 for six on a pitch expected to turn.
Hyderabad will lean on Tanay Thyagarajan, who leads the season with 20 wickets, to break this total. They are missing Mohammed Siraj and Shubman Gill, both away with India in New Zealand.

Hyderabad's first-innings bowling figures will tell us how much the pitch is doing; if Tanay Thyagarajan can't exploit it, Punjab's decision to bat first could look the sharper move by stumps on day two.
