Maharashtra chase 112 to top Elite Group C
Maharashtra secured a bonus-point win and moved to the top of Elite Group C.
Maharashtra chased down 112 in 19.4 overs at Eden Gardens and moved to the top of Elite Group C. Prithvi Shaw stayed unbeaten on 53 and Sachin Dhas finished on an unbeaten fifty. Pradeep Dhade and Hitesh Walunj each took four wickets.
Shaw reached his fifty in 50 balls and now has two half-centuries in the season. The win earned Maharashtra a bonus point. Mohammed Shami took four wickets for Bengal and was included in their 19-member squad for the SMAT 2026-27 season.
Shaw said an India return is always in the back of his mind, but he has learnt not to think so much ahead. Abhimanyu Easwaran will lead Bengal in the upcoming SMAT campaign.

Shaw's measured comments reveal a player who has internalised selection cycles rather than chasing them. His refusal to project forward may actually improve his short-term output.
