Prithvi Shaw focuses on cricket, family and self after social media break

Shaw is avoiding social media and public attention while captaining Maharashtra in the Ranji Trophy.

Maharashtra captain Prithvi Shaw has stepped away from social media and public attention to focus on cricket, family and personal improvement. After leading his side to a 127-run win over Services in the Ranji Trophy opener at Palam, he said the break has helped him work harder than before.

The 26-year-old scored 70 in the first innings and praised his younger teammates for their smart approach. He also revealed he plays GTA, FIFA and a cricket career mode to stay motivated after tough days, while avoiding public spaces because he dislikes paparazzi attention.

Shaw's long-term goal remains a return to the Indian team, but the drive now comes from within rather than proving others wrong. He described it as "me versus me" and said the hunger to play for India keeps him going.

Shaw's real test will be whether this quieter approach can last through a full Ranji season and turn the domestic runs into a fresh India recall.
