Ryan ten Doeschate joins KKR as head of cricket strategy
Ten Doeschate returns to Knight Riders as head of cricket strategy one day after leaving India's coaching setup, overseeing recruitment across all KKR franchises globally.
Ryan ten Doeschate has been appointed head of cricket strategy at the Knight Riders Group. The former India assistant coach will oversee strategy, scouting, recruitment and performance across KKR's IPL, CPL, ILT20 and MLC franchises. He starts the role less than 24 hours after the BCCI confirmed his departure from India's coaching staff.
Ten Doeschate said he was excited to return to the Knight Riders setup. The long-term position covers all four Knight Riders teams globally. KKR is also searching for a new IPL captain after Ajinkya Rahane's retirement.
The franchise must decide whether to promote from within or acquire external leadership at the next auction cycle.
