Pybus credits Afghanistan's bowling depth after tri-series win
Richard Pybus says Afghanistan's bowling success in Sharjah came from collective contributions rather than Rashid Khan alone.
Afghanistan coach Richard Pybus has praised the team's bowling unit after they defeated Zimbabwe by seven wickets to win the ODI tri-series in Sharjah. Pybus said Rashid Khan is supported by a diverse and competent attack that takes wickets for each other, rather than relying on one individual.
Rashid took three for 41 as Afghanistan bowled Zimbabwe out for 169 before chasing the target in 34.3 overs. Pybus also commended captain Rahmat Shah's calm leadership, which has delivered seven consecutive ODI wins since he took charge.
Pybus noted that regular matches against higher-ranked sides remain essential for Afghanistan's development. He said the team is evolving but needs consistent exposure to top opposition to continue improving across formats.

Afghanistan's recent streak shows what becomes possible when a captain creates stability and the attack shares responsibility, but sustained progress still depends on more regular fixtures against stronger sides.
