Afghanistan drop Mohammad Nabi from T20I squad for Zimbabwe series

Afghanistan have left out Mohammad Nabi from their T20I squad after he struggled against India last month.

CricHubb3h ago

Afghanistan have dropped senior all-rounder Mohammad Nabi from their T20I squad for the upcoming series against Zimbabwe. Nabi played all three T20Is against India in New Delhi last month but failed to impress with both bat and ball. He remains part of the ODI squad for the tri-series in the UAE. Rashid Khan has been rested for the Tests against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, with Rahmat Shah named captain for those matches. Ibrahim Zadran will captain the side in ODIs and T20Is. Uncapped all-rounder Abdullah Tarakhil and Mohammad Akram have been included in the T20I squad.

CricHubb Take

Nabi stays in the ODI picture, so the move looks more like a short-format experiment than a permanent exit — and it puts extra weight on the uncapped pair of Tarakhil and Akram to justify the call.
