Ravindra Jadeja asks 'What the procedure?' after BCCI invites selector applications

Jadeja's social media response sparked speculation after the BCCI opened applications for Agarkar's replacement as chief selector.

Ravindra Jadeja responded to the BCCI's post inviting applications for a position on the men's selection committee by asking 'What the procedure?' on X. The all-rounder's cryptic comment came hours after the board confirmed Ajit Agarkar's exit as chief selector on Wednesday. Jadeja is not known for frequent social media activity and his last reply came in February.

Agarkar's tenure ended on October 4 after he chose not to seek an extension. The BCCI lauded his contribution during a period that included three ICC trophy wins. Candidates must have played a minimum of seven Tests or 30 first-class matches and be retired from the game for at least five years.

Former India spinner Pragyan Ojha was named interim Chairman of Selectors. Jadeja remains a vital member of India's Test and ODI sides and is expected to feature in the upcoming tour of New Zealand.
