Rinku Singh walked in with Uttar Pradesh in trouble and pulled them out of it — an unbeaten 118 that took UP to 202 all out against Goa on day one. Yash Kaswankar took five for 86, but Rinku's knock was the innings that mattered.

It's his second hundred of the season and his 11th in first-class cricket. He's now passed Uttar Pradesh's previous record for centuries. Goa replied with 43 for no loss, trailing by 159 runs.

What stands out isn't just the runs. Rinku's become the man UP turn to when the top order collapses — he anchors, he builds, he doesn't panic. At a time when India's middle order needs bodies, that pattern's getting harder to ignore.

CricHubb Take

The question isn't whether Rinku deserves a Test call-up anymore — it's why it hasn't happened yet. In a domestic season where Ranji performances are supposed to mean something, two centuries and a proven ability to rebuild an innings should count for more than they apparently do.
