Rohit Sharma reaches 12,000 ODI runs but keeps meaning of his high-knee celebration private.

Rohit Sharma scored 101 off 75 balls but refused to explain the high-knee celebration that followed his 35th ODI century. He told broadcasters the gesture was personal and would stay private. Ravindra Jadeja asked about the routine during the innings and received the same reply.

Rohit reached 12,000 ODI runs during the innings, becoming the third Indian after Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli to achieve the mark. He got there in 282 innings, quicker than Tendulkar's 300 but slower than Kohli's 242. India chased 406 for the loss of two wickets in 43.3 overs to win by eight wickets.

Herschelle Gibbs posted on social media that he would message Rohit to ask about the celebration, calling it a stinker. Rohit said some things are simply meant to stay with the player and not be shared publicly.

CricHubb Take

Rohit's refusal to explain the celebration draws a clear line between his public role and private moments at a time when every innings is being read as a statement on his future.
