The Board of Control for Cricket in India will hold a review meeting in Mumbai on Thursday to discuss Rohit Sharma's future ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup. The futures of Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja will also come under discussion as India begins planning for the tournament in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Reports indicate that selectors informed Rohit in July that the panel had decided to move on from him, though he expressed a desire to play the next World Cup. Head coach Gautam Gambhir, chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar and Centre of Excellence chief VVS Laxman are expected to attend.
Jonty Rhodes has backed Rohit as an asset at the World Cup given his experience.
