Yuzvendra Chahal said an intoxicated Australian cricketer hung him from a 15th-floor hotel balcony during an IPL party in Bengaluru in 2013. The spinner clarified that neither Andrew Symonds nor James Franklin was involved and that the person responsible remains unnamed. Chahal, who was playing for Mumbai Indians at the time, described clinging to the man's neck before others pulled him back inside.

Chahal said he was young and did not know how to file an official complaint. He described the incident as terrifying and said it felt like a second birth. The leg-spinner added that he chose to move on and focus on his cricket career rather than pursue the matter.

Chahal has not played for India since a 2023 T20I against the West Indies. He leads the IPL's all-time wicket-takers with 233 scalps in 188 matches.
