India captain Shubman Gill has brushed aside doubts over Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's ODI futures, insisting the veteran duo remain in top form ahead of the 2027 World Cup. Speaking after the third ODI against West Indies, Gill said both batters had performed well in the series and that the team lacked time to experiment with combinations.

Gill said there is not much time to experiment and that India wants to start playing with the combination it plans for the World Cup. He noted that Rohit Sharma has scored three hundreds in his last four innings and that Virat Kohli has also batted well. Gill added that KL Rahul has stepped up whenever given the chance.

India lost the third ODI after Gill and Kohli fell early, but the series result was already decided. The team has a month before its next ODI assignment against New Zealand.

CricHubb Take

Gill's stance shows the top three are locked in. Any middle-order change will come around them, not instead of them.
