Saikia backs Rohit Sharma after BCCI review meeting
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia defended Rohit Sharma's ODI place after the board's performance review meeting.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia defended Rohit Sharma's place in the ODI side after Thursday's performance review at the board's Mumbai headquarters. Saikia called the former captain's current form brilliant and shut down talk of him being dropped.
The meeting covered India's recent results abroad and the path to the 2027 ODI World Cup. Ajit Agarkar, chairman of selectors, was not in the room.
Saikia also confirmed the board will tweak the Future Tours Programme to build in more rest and acclimatisation ahead of SENA tours.
