Rohit Sharma refuses to explain century celebration in Guwahati ODI

Rohit Sharma said his century celebration after scoring 101 against West Indies was personal and not meant to be shared.

Rohit Sharma wouldn't explain the high-knee celebration that followed his 35th ODI century against West Indies in Guwahati. He told reporters the gesture was personal and stayed that way. Ravindra Jadeja had pushed him to slide and jump, but Rohit had spent 50 overs in the field and nearly 30 at the crease, so he passed.

He crossed 12,000 ODI runs during the innings, becoming only the third Indian after Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli to reach the mark. The 101 came off 75 balls in a chase of 406, India's highest successful pursuit. Shubman Gill stayed not out on 223, and India won by eight wickets.

Rohit said the priority was building a strong opening stand, not personal landmarks. He credited Gill's control at the other end and stressed that long innings demand concentration more than milestones.

CricHubb Take

After 50 overs in the field and 30 at the crease, Rohit is treating personal moments as private property, which might be the clearest sign yet that he no longer feels the need to turn every gesture into content for the rest of us.
