15-year-old Uma Kashvi becomes youngest player sold in WPL history

Uma Kashvi went to Delhi Capitals for her base price of Rs 10 lakh at the WPL mini-auction.

Delhi Capitals signed 15-year-old Karnataka all-rounder Uma Kashvi for Rs 10 lakh at the WPL 2027 mini-auction in Kochi, making her the youngest player ever bought in the league. Kashvi, a right-arm spin-bowling all-rounder, has already represented India Under-19 against Sri Lanka Under-19. She is expected to miss the 2027 season due to the Under-19 World Cup.

Delhi Capitals also secured Kiran Navgire for Rs 75 lakh, Kirstie Gordon for Rs 10 lakh and Nazma Khan for Rs 10 lakh. The franchise retained 13 players before the auction and completed a 17-member squad. Head coach Jonathan Batty described Kashvi as a long-term investment.

Deeya Yadav previously held the record as the youngest player sold at a WPL auction at 16 years old. Delhi Capitals had Rs 1.1 crore remaining in their purse before the auction.
