188. Lhuan-dre Pretorius breaks Gayle's T20 record
Lhuan-dre Pretorius smashed an unbeaten 188 to break Chris Gayle's record for the highest score in men's T20 cricket.
South African batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius scored an unbeaten 188 off 79 balls for the Titans against the Knights in the CSA T20 Challenge on Friday, surpassing Chris Gayle's previous record of 175 not out. Pretorius hit 15 fours and 13 sixes at a strike rate of 237.97 and fell 12 runs short of becoming the first man to reach a double century in men's T20 cricket. He reached his fifty in 24 balls, his hundred in 40 balls and his 150 in 58 balls. The Titans posted 267 for three, the second-highest total in CSA T20 Challenge history, and bowled out the Knights for 143 to win by 124 runs. Pretorius had scored a T20I century against Namibia last month and now holds the longest innings in the format by balls faced alongside Aaron Finch and Marcus Stoinis.
