Aakash Chopra backs Gurnoor Brar for Tests only

Former India opener Aakash Chopra said reserving Gurnoor Brar for Test cricket is a good thought but questioned whether the approach would be right. The comment came after India's 1-0 Test series win over Sri Lanka.

Brar returned from Colombo on Friday and bowled 23 overs in the Duleep Trophy semifinal against South Zone on Sunday, finishing with four wickets. His schedule has been tight, with the quick turnaround from international duty to domestic cricket leaving little rest.

Selectors have not yet announced the squad for the upcoming home series against England. Brar's red-ball numbers this season stand at 17 wickets from four matches at an average of 22.4.
