Aakash Chopra picks KKR captain for IPL 2027 after Rahane retires

Aakash Chopra said Kolkata Knight Riders will need a new captain after Ajinkya Rahane retires following the 2026 season. The former India opener suggested a current squad member should take over for IPL 2027.

Rahane has led KKR since the previous season and guided them to consistent playoff appearances. No official announcement has been made regarding his retirement plans.

The franchise has several senior players who could be considered for the role when Rahane steps down.
