Aakash Chopra questions omission of Shivam Dube from T20I series against New Zealand

Aakash Chopra criticised India's decision to leave Shivam Dube out of the T20I series despite the all-rounder's prior international record.

India completed a 3-0 T20I series win over New Zealand, yet Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Auqib Nabi and Kumar Kushagra remained unused throughout the matches. Aakash Chopra criticised the team management for overlooking Dube despite his prior international experience.

Chopra noted that Dube has played ODI cricket against England and performed in World Cup finals, Asian Games and Asia Cup matches. He argued that Nitish Kumar Reddy is a better bowler while Dube remains a stronger finisher, and said one cannot simply declare the all-rounder is no longer needed.

Chopra stated he is in no hurry to write Dube off and urged selectors to reconsider their approach to established performers who still have contributions to make at international level.
