Abhishek Nayar urges India to play Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in fifth T20I
Former India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar said India should give Vaibhav Sooryavanshi a chance in the fifth T20I against the West Indies. Nayar said the team should first secure a 3-1 lead and then include the 15-year-old in the final match.
Sooryavanshi has played eight T20Is, scoring 246 runs at a strike rate of 186.36 with two half-centuries. His Instagram post before the fourth match, captioned "Stay seated" with tornado and hourglass emojis, fuelled speculation about his return.
India open with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson. Captain Shreyas Iyer and coach Gautam Gambhir are expected to retain the pair for the fourth match. The fifth and final match is scheduled for the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.
