Abhishek Sharma reached 100 powerplay sixes in T20Is during India's chase in the second T20I against New Zealand at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. He lofted Matt Henry over extra cover for the milestone six in the third over.

Abhishek Sharma now leads Rohit Sharma, who has 98, Martin Guptill with 97, and Paul Stirling with 94 on the all-time list. He reached the mark after scoring 29 off 12 balls with two fours and three sixes in the first T20I at the same ground.

India chased 226 in the opening match to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. The team lost two wickets early in the second match while chasing 181.
