Abhishek Sharma hits 69th six of 2026 to break Suryakumar Yadav record

Abhishek Sharma struck his 69th six of the calendar year during the fourth T20I against West Indies in Hyderabad on Wednesday, surpassing Suryakumar Yadav’s previous mark of 68 set in 2022. He reached the milestone in 33 innings with 950 runs at a strike rate above 206.

Cheteshwar Pujara said Abhishek has the ability of Chris Gayle and praised his improved shot selection after taking time at the start in Indore. The opener scored 69 off 30 balls in the third T20I but managed only 29 off 24 in the fourth match.

India lost the fourth T20I by 24 runs and the series is now level at 2-2. The decider will be played in Bengaluru on Saturday.
