Abhishek Sharma sets T20I record with seventh first-ball six

Abhishek Sharma hits his seventh first-ball six to break Shinwari's T20I record during India's four-wicket win.

Abhishek Sharma broke Shafiqullah Shinwari's world record for most first-ball sixes in T20Is during India's chase against New Zealand at Hagley Oval. He hit his seventh such six off Matt Henry's final delivery of the opening over while chasing 226.

Sharma scored 29 off 12 balls before departing, helping India reach 93 for one in the powerplay alongside Sanju Samson. India eventually won by four wickets with Naman Dhir unbeaten on 42 from 15 balls.

Sharma also delivered a pre-match huddle speech urging his teammates to treat New Zealand as opponents rather than friends. He said India must show why they are world champions and win from the first game of the series.
