Porel remains in judicial custody after the court rejected his bail plea in the ongoing case.

Delhi Capitals and Bengal wicketkeeper-batter Abishek Porel was denied bail and sent to judicial custody for 14 days by the Chinsurah Court on Friday. He faces allegations of sexual relations under the pretext of marriage.

Porel was arrested on August 11 after the complainant approached the Calcutta High Court, which directed police to arrest him. He had been under investigation since June 23 when the complaint was filed at Mogra Police Station.

The 23-year-old has not played competitive cricket since the end of IPL 2026. The next hearing date has not been confirmed.
