ACB chief credits ILT20 for securing contracts for 25 Afghan players
Naseeb Khan Zadran said the ILT20 partnership has created opportunities for 25 Afghan players in Season 5.
Afghanistan Cricket Board chief executive Naseeb Khan Zadran has praised ILT20 management for securing contracts for 25 Afghan players across the league's six franchises. Zadran said the partnership with the Emirates Cricket Board created defined opportunities for Afghan cricketers at both squad and match level.
Each franchise must include at least four Afghan players in its squad, while playing conditions require a minimum of two Afghan players in every playing XI. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Rahmanullah Gurbaz earned record amounts through the auction.
Zadran credited ILT20 chairman Khalid Al Zarooni and league commissioner Mubashshir Usmani for implementing the partnership. He said the arrangement provides a professional pathway for Afghan players and helps expand the game in the country.
