Afghanistan post record 343 for 9 to beat Ireland by 42 runs

Ibrahim Zadran and Sediqullah Atal centuries powered Afghanistan to their highest ODI score and an unassailable 3-0 series lead over Ireland.

Afghanistan posted their highest ODI total of 343 for 9 to beat Ireland by 42 runs in Belfast and seal the five-match series with one game remaining. Ibrahim Zadran and Sediqullah Atal both scored centuries in a second-wicket partnership of 231. Ireland opener Andrew Balbirnie replied with a century before becoming Rashid Khan's 11th wicket of the series.

Curtis Campher scored an aggressive 84 from 46 balls but Ireland were eventually bowled out for 301. Afghanistan won the second and third ODIs by 92 runs and three wickets respectively after the opening match was washed out. The series concludes at Stormont on Saturday.
