Ajinkya Rahane backs Sanju Samson over Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for Afghanistan T20Is

Ajinkya Rahane urged India to stick with Sanju Samson for the T20I series against Afghanistan and said Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will get his opportunities later. The former India captain said the 15-year-old should wait for his chance.

Shreyas Iyer admitted the selection call between Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Sooryavanshi is a difficult one. Samson last played a competitive match during India's second T20I against England.

Sooryavanshi has impressed in the Duleep Trophy and the IPL but faces competition from established players for an opening spot. Rahane said the World Cup-winning squad should be maintained for the upcoming series.
