Ajit Agarkar questioned over Mohammed Shami exclusion as pacer nears 100th first-class match
Bharat Arun criticised selectors for dropping Shami despite his strong first-class record and called for a review of his case.
Former India coach Bharat Arun said selectors should not have closed the door on Mohammed Shami. Shami is set to play his 100th first-class match in the Duleep Trophy final in Chennai.
Shami has not played for India since the Champions Trophy final in Dubai last year. Arun argued the pacer's consistent performances and durability in red-ball cricket made the exclusion premature.
The BCCI has been urged to assess Shami's fitness rather than write him off. Shami turned 36 this month and remains available for selection.
