Mayank Yadav set for T20I return against West Indies

Mayank Yadav is poised to make his T20I comeback against West Indies after recovering from back surgery and a toe injury.

Mayank Yadav is expected to return to the India T20I side for the opening match against West Indies in Lucknow on October 6. The fast bowler missed the Asian Games campaign after undergoing back surgery last year and suffering a toe injury during his rehabilitation. He made a successful comeback during India's tour of Zimbabwe in July.

India bowling coach Morne Morkel confirmed that the team will factor in jetlag concerns when selecting the playing XI. Several players returned from Japan only days before the series opener. Morkel said the focus will remain on execution under pressure rather than pitch conditions.

Kuldeep Yadav also returns to the squad after taking seven wickets across the three ODIs against West Indies. Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the T20I series.
