Anaya Bangar hits back at Marizanne Kapp over cricket return
Anaya Bangar urged critics to educate themselves on transgender inclusion in sports as she seeks a pathway back into competitive women's cricket.
Anaya Bangar pushed back after South Africa all-rounder Marizanne Kapp questioned her return to the sport. She said critics need to learn the policies that govern transgender participation in women's cricket.
Bangar had gender-affirming surgery and now wants to play again at the elite level. Cricket Australia has cleared her under its current rules, but she must still prove herself at community level before any shot at the Women's Big Bash League.
Her path is clear on paper: meet the policy requirements, post results at the lower grades, and stay eligible. She is working through those steps now.
