Anustup Majumdar recalls East Zone's last Chennai title ahead of Duleep Trophy final

Anustup Majumdar recalled East Zone's last Duleep Trophy triumph at MA Chidambaram Stadium 14 years ago as the team prepares to face South Zone in the 2026 final. East Zone won the title in the 2012-13 season.

Majumdar said the side played with freedom throughout that campaign. The current squad returns to the same venue seeking to replicate that approach under different conditions.

South Zone will field KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj and Devdutt Padikkal after their addition to the squad. The four-day match begins on September 6.
