Arafat Minhas takes six for 40 as Pakistan beat England by 87 runs

Pakistan secured an 87-run win after Arafat Minhas claimed six for 40 to bowl England out for 215 while chasing 303 in Rawalpindi.

Pakistan defeated England by 87 runs in the opening match of the ODI tri-series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Arafat Minhas scored 59 with the bat and then took six for 40 to finish the visitors off for 215 in 38.4 overs while chasing 303.

England had reached 91 for none inside 15 overs after openers Tom Banton and Ben Duckett put on 91. The innings fell apart once the openers departed, with the last five wickets adding only 17 runs. Minhas removed Banton, Harry Brook, Will Jacks, Adil Rashid and Jamie Overton, and ran out Gus Atkinson to complete the victory.

England will face Sri Lanka in their next match at the same venue on Thursday. The tri-series features each side playing the other twice before the top two teams contest the final in Lahore on 31 October.
