Arunachal Pradesh forfeit Ranji opener against Nagaland over administrative crisis
Arunachal Pradesh forfeited their Ranji opener due to a legal dispute over association elections.
Arunachal Pradesh forfeited their Ranji Trophy Plate group opener against Nagaland on Sunday because of an ongoing administrative crisis that has left the state association without a functioning authority. The dispute stems from allegations of irregularities in the association's September elections.
Several district bodies approached the Itanagar Bench of the Gauhati High Court, which issued a stay order and reserved its judgment. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the board cannot intervene while the matter remains sub-judice.
Arunachal Pradesh also failed to field a team for their Vinoo Mankad Trophy match against Sikkim earlier in the week. They are scheduled to play Sikkim again from October 18 in Nadiad.
