Ashwin says India lack quality in bowling attack
Ashwin said India lack quality in their bowling attack and have not invested enough in developing high-quality bowlers.
Ravichandran Ashwin said India do not have enough quality in their bowling attack after the second T20I loss to West Indies in Ranchi. The former all-rounder said the team has not placed enough emphasis on developing high-quality bowlers. Ashwin spoke on his YouTube show Ash ki Baat.
Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the series against West Indies. Ashwin noted that Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav were fortunate to have Bumrah as a "cheat code" who could bowl defensively and vary his pace. He said not many bowlers possess those gifts and expressed concern about the future of Indian bowling.
India will play the third T20I at Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday. Shreyas Iyer's winning streak as captain ended after ten consecutive victories. West Indies chased down 249 for a six-wicket win, their highest successful T20I chase.
