Auqib Nabi replaces injured Bumrah in India Test squad for Sri Lanka
Jammu and Kashmir seamer Auqib Nabi replaces Jasprit Bumrah in India's Test squad for the Sri Lanka series after the India captain was ruled out with a knee injury.
Auqib Nabi gets his first Test call-up. The Jammu and Kashmir seamer steps in for Jasprit Bumrah, who hasn't recovered from the left knee injury he picked up against England last month.
Nabi took 104 wickets in the last two Ranji seasons, 60 of them this year, and helped his state lift their first title. He added six more scalps in two first-class games on India A's recent trip to Sri Lanka.
The BCCI medical team didn't want to rush Bumrah back with a packed calendar ahead. India open in Galle on August 15, then head to Colombo for the second Test eight days later.
