Australia beat South Africa by 45 runs on DLS in rain-hit ODI

Australia avoided a 3-0 whitewash with a rain-affected victory over South Africa.

Australia posted 322 for 9, then restricted South Africa to 145 for 4 in 28 overs before rain ended the third ODI at Potchefstroom. They won by 45 runs on the DLS method.

Mitchell Marsh made his third straight half-century and Alex Carey added 74. Xavier Bartlett and Adam Zampa each took two wickets as South Africa lost regular wickets in the chase.

South Africa had already taken the series 2-1. The win gives Australia something to build on before the Tests begin.
