Nathan Ellis and Joel Davies ruled out of final ODI
Ellis and Davies join Australia's growing injury list ahead of the series finale in Potchefstroom.
Australia fast bowler Nathan Ellis and left-arm spinner Joel Davies have been ruled out of the third ODI against South Africa. Ellis sustained a left side strain after bowling four overs in the second ODI in Johannesburg. Davies suffered a hamstring strain while fielding as a substitute in the same match.
Ellis will return to Australia for rehabilitation and hopes to be fit for the home ODI series against England starting November 13. Davies will resume domestic cricket with New South Wales. Both players travelled home without replacements being named.
Australia will have only four fit specialist fast bowlers available for Wednesday's dead rubber in Potchefstroom. Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc are expected to return while Josh Hazlewood may be rested.
