Babette de Leede named Netherlands captain for Emerging Nations Trophy

Babette de Leede was named captain of the Netherlands squad for the ICC Women's Emerging Nations Trophy 2026. The tournament begins on November 12 in the United Arab Emirates.

Carlijn van Koolwijk earned a notable inclusion while most selected players featured in the Netherlands T20 World Cup squad earlier in 2026. The Netherlands drew their preceding ODI series against Scotland 1-1.

Ten teams will compete in the expanded event, up from five in the previous edition. Five full-member nations are participating: Ireland, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. All matches will be played at Karwan Sports Club Cricket Ground and Seven Districts Sports Club in Ajman.
