Sri Lankan coach dies after altercation with players during match

Badrinath shifts accountability for Bumrah's injury from the CoE to the captain, coach and selectors.

Former India batter Subramaniam Badrinath has said the captain, coach and selectors are responsible for Jasprit Bumrah's injury management, not the Centre of Excellence. Badrinath clarified that the CoE only passes information about a player's fitness and does not make selection decisions. He pointed out that the players currently dealing with injuries have suffered different types of setbacks, making it difficult to identify one common cause. Badrinath said fitness is not Washington Sundar's forte and urged him to work seriously on himself if he intends to prolong his career. The comments come as India prepare for a two-Test series against Sri Lanka without Bumrah, who was ruled out with a knee injury sustained during the ODI series in England.
