ICC approves Women's Emerging Nations Trophy and Champions Trophy shift
Dilara Akter's fifty powered Bangladesh Women to a 13-run win over Netherlands.
The ICC Board has approved several changes to the women's international calendar, moving the Women's Champions Trophy 2027 to February and piloting a Women's Emerging Nations Trophy in 2026 with 10 teams. The board also endorsed the qualification pathway for the 2028 Women's T20 World Cup, which Pakistan will host.
Dilara Akter's 51 off 26 balls helped Bangladesh Women reach 98 for 3 in a rain-affected match before their bowlers defended the total to beat Netherlands Women by 13 runs in the Scotland tri-series. Ashleigh Gardner posted a strong score against South Africa in a practice match before the Women's T20 World Cup.
