Bangladesh reach new ICC Test ranking despite defeat to Australia

Bangladesh rose to sixth in the ICC Test team rankings on Sunday after the latest update from the world governing body. The team had lost the second Test against Australia by an innings and 51 runs inside two days at Mackay earlier in the day.

The ranking improvement came despite the heavy defeat that levelled the two-match series 1-1. Bangladesh had won the first Test in Darwin to record their maiden Test victory on Australian soil.
