BCB distances itself from Nigar Sultana handshake snub and will review captaincy

The Bangladesh Cricket Board called the handshake snub a personal decision and will review Nigar Sultana's captaincy after the Asian Games.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board clarified that Nigar Sultana's decision not to shake hands with Harmanpreet Kaur during the toss was her personal choice and not a team directive. The board said it plans to evaluate her leadership after the Asian Games and will take team performance into account. Bangladesh lost the Women's Asia Cup semi-final to India by 40 runs in Dubai.

Complaints about the captain's behaviour have also surfaced within the board. The incident occurred during a tense Asia Cup clash between the two sides. India will face Sri Lanka in the final on Sunday at the same venue.
