BCB ends Sharfuddoula contract after April 2026

The board cited Sharfuddoula's international commitments as the reason for not renewing his contract.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed Tuesday that Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat's contract as a BCB umpire ends in April 2026. They extended it from December 2025 until next April, then chose not to renew.

Sharfuddoula's duties on the ICC Elite Panel drove the call — full member boards rarely keep those umpires on central contracts. The BCB added it may still call on him for bilaterals and domestic matches if his schedule allows, starting with the T20I series against Australia in June 2026.
