BCCI alters selection policy after recent backlash, report says
BCCI changes selection policy after criticism over injured players returning too soon.
The BCCI has tightened its selection rules after taking heat for rushing injured players back into the side. The board now insists on a medical sign-off from its Centre of Excellence before any player can be picked again, NDTV Sports reports.
The move comes just before India’s three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, which starts on 13 September. It’s meant to stop players from being rushed into the squad before they’re truly fit and to keep fitness standards the same across formats.
